Download the Bez Theme Photoshop File (PSD) - Create your own icons!!

Due to the amount of requests for icons I have decided to release the Icon Photoshop file for the Bez Theme so that anyone with Adobe Photoshop can create their own icons.

I have made it really simple, and I have also created a custom Action that will create the reflection for you perfectly every time. Please read the instructions on where to place the Action on your computer
(or use Load Action from the Action panel in Photoshop) and save the file as a 24 bit PNG and upload it to your iPhone.

Download the Bez Theme PSD

I have not had many people test this for me yet, so if you have any problems, please let me know!!! Thanks for all the support!!

Edit - I removed the Action from the zip until I get it working correctly.

For now simply place your desired image between the button and button reflection layers. Make sure you keep the clipping path (little black down arrows) so that your new image masks nicely into the button. You can then apply different effects or whatever you want to your new layer.

you can change the color of the button layer if you wish by selecting the color and then simply hitting alt/option and delete on your keyboard (this will fill the layer with your selected color)

The reflection masks is there to help you create the reflection of the icons, you can do this easily by

  1. selecting the button layer, your new layer(s) and the reflection layer in the layer panel (using control/command to select then each) - not the reflection mask

  2. right click in the layer panel and select merge layers

  3. right click again in the layers panel and select duplicate layer

  4. then hit control+t (command+t) and right click and select flip vertical, then hit retun (or double click) - this should have created a copy of your new icon and flipped it upside down.

  5. Drag the upside down icon down so that its top edge lines up with the bottom of the properly aligned layer you created before.

  6. Move the layer above the reflection mask layer in the layer control panel

  7. Hold down option/alt on your keyboard and click between the upside down layer you moved above the reflection mask. - you should see the clipping path icon (two small circles) pop up. - A small black arrow will indicate that the upside down duplicate of your icon is now been inserted into the reflection mask.

  8. Save your file for Web and other Devices as a 24bit PNG with transparency turned on and name it correctly.

Welcome to the Bez Theme Blog

Welcome to the Bez Theme Blog!

Here you can find the latest info about my new Bez Theme for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Currently there are about 77+ icons, 2 wallpapers and some icons for Categories. I have also been using the Bez Theme with the fantastic WeatherWidget.

Bez is also now available on Customize!

The Bez theme is now also available on Customize on your iPhone. I have so far uploaded a couple sliders and some other System Artwork. The idea here is for this theme not to re-invent the GUI of the iPhone, but rather make it a little more dramatic and add some bold color, lighting and shadows where needed.

WinterBoard Weather Widget Theme

The WinterBoard Weather Widget was developed by Zetetic Apparatchik over on MacThemes and is mostly coded in XHTML, CSS and JS by Zetetic except for the AccuWeather fetcher ‘borrowed’ from Leopard*.

If you know a little CSS and HTML editing this widget is a snap and you really wouldn’t need my help. But for those of you looking at this wonder what how the hell to make this work for you - this tutorial is for you.

There is a Tutorial on how to install the WeatherWidget here. I will be creating a page on this blog with that tutorial soon.

The Bez Theme is currently available on Cydia and Installer via _BigBoss_ and soon ModMyiFone. Unfortunately it takes some time for the developers to update the files on their server, so I have created a blog where people can easily find News, Updates and make requests for icons and artwork.

Here is a list of the icons currently available:
